One of our client is looking for a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer.
Position Overview
- To coordinate and review the work of the Design Engineering team.
- To manage assigned projects.
- To interface with external technical stakeholders.
Knowledge and Experience
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Experience in mechanical design of products, materials properties and selection, stress analysis, and design for manufacturing.
- Experience with, and ability to read technical specifications, industry standards and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes, their advantages and limitations including hot work, stamping, machining, heat treatment and finishing.
- Produce accurate, clear detail and assembly drawings using SolidWorks in compliance with drafting standards.
- General understanding of the power generation industry, including awareness of construction methods, handling of fiber optic cable, and other best practices.
- Understanding of material fatigue due to vibration-induced motion, weathering, etc
- Understanding of electrical phenomena in electrical conductors and appropriate design considerations
- Experience in project management techniques, Gantt charts, and related tools
- Experience leading a technical team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using MS Office tools such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- Fluent in English
Responsibilities
- Manage technical team and assigned projects to meet deadlines provided
- Provide regular status updates to key stakeholders regarding project status
- Responsible for detail design and development of products to support technical projects.
- Complete 3D models, fabrication drawings and general layout drawings in SolidWorks including relevant manufacturing information and bills of materials.
- Performing calculations and layouts required to achieve final design drawings.
